During our stay in Monteverde, we visited the famous Skywalk Bridges. Basically, the park was a series of 6 or 7 suspended bridges hundreds of feet above the Cloud Forest jungle floor. In between each bridge we had to do some hiking along the trails (we walked more on this trip than in the 6 preceding months). But of course, I had to add a little drama to the day by forgetting my backpack and camera in the hotel lobby! A little panicky, I attempted to use the pay phone to call our hotel, only to realize that I couldn't understand the spanish automated operator system (DOH!). So we went to the front desk lady and dispite the fact that she was suffering from a bad cold, she happily phoned our hotel, and arranged for a driver to bring the backpack to us. You'll hear this more as you look through my website, but the people of Costa Rica are the best!

AFTER we got our camera back, we're ready to go. We could have also done the zipline Tour - SkyTrek (which looked to be twice as high as the first zipline tour we'd been on), but it was super windy, misty, and cold that day. On the bright side, we had the entire Skywalk side of the park pretty much to ourselves!

They gave us some heavy waterproof trenchcoats (thank God), and we were off. I was hoping to see one of the many brilliantly colored frogs known to inhabit the region, but they usually are only seen in the early morning or evening times. The views from the bridges were gorgeous, the camera can't really capture the beauty of a place like this. The Cloud Forest certainly didn't dissapoint!
